The Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society $5,000 Grant
The Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society was founded in 1991 by community members to help promote public awareness of the lake, covering issues such as conservation, pollution, and lake management. It is a non-political, non-profit charitable organization run entirely by volunteers. The Society has been testing samples of the lake and sharing their findings with multiple governmental organizations. To continue their good work, a new pontoon boat was needed. Fundraising in the community from individual donors, Okanagan Basin Water Board, Collision Craft, Town of Osoyoos and others along with a $5000 grant from SIDIT helped purchase the new boat.
Brigit Arnstein, President, Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society: “We very much appreciate the generous grant from SIDIT which has enabled us to purchase our aluminum pontoon boat, new motor and trailer. The generosity of organizations like SIDT is invaluable in enabling the Osoyoos Lake Water Quality to continue doing its important work.”
