Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust
awards a $25,000 Grant to
Chase & District Lions Community Club
The Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust (“SIDIT”) is pleased to announce that it has granted a $25,000 Grant to the Chase & District Lions Community Club for their water park.
The Chase & District Lions Community Club has been fundraising for two years to construct a water park at Memorial Park in Chase, BC, as part of a legacy project celebrating 100 years of the International Lions. Chase is a community with 2,500 residents and limited amenities. The park will be wheel-chair accessible and designed with sensitivity for children with special mobility and sensory needs. The economic advantages for the community include increased tourism and attracting more people to the area, which means local businesses will see increased visits.
“The Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust is pleased to be a partner in this important recreational community project for the Village of Chase”, states Claudette Everitt, SIDIT Chair. “The Chase & District Lions Community Club has been working tirelessly for years to fundraise and coordinate this project. They should be commended for their efforts to enhance the community.”
“We are grateful to the Trust for the $25,000 Grant to support this project that will improve our community and attract and keep young families in Chase” stated Beverley Iglesias, President.
